Settings
Open Settings from the account menu at the bottom of the navigation. The screen is organised in tabs. Most settings have two columns: User is your own choice, Namespace is the default an administrator sets for everyone working in the active namespace. Your own value, when set, wins over the namespace default; leave it empty to follow the default.
Setting the namespace column needs the update billingaccount permission. The Namespace and
Automated Access tabs only appear for users who may use them.
Interface
The basics of how the console displays information, so you can read it the way you are used to:
- Language of the application.
- Date notation and time notation, used everywhere a date or time is shown or entered.
- Beta features, which turns on early and experimental functionality, and Use the original UI, which sends every page the original console still has to that console.
Datasource
How the Datasources View loads and shows a datasource. These settings keep the view focused on the data you are interested in and make it load faster:
- Default data view — whether a datasource opens with the chart or the table as the main way to look at its data.
- Default range — the time range loaded first, as a start and an end relative to today. For example the last month, or one year back and one year forward.
- Default visible channels — the channels that load when a datasource opens. A datasource with ten channels shows only these at first; the others stay one click away.
- Blacklisted channels — channels that are never loaded. If you are never interested in billing, blacklist the billing channels and they stop showing up altogether.
- Audit Events range — how many days of audit events the datasource view retrieves.
Tasks
Your preferences for Task Management:
- Favorite task board — the board you work from most. It appears in the left-hand menu, directly below the Dashboard item, so it is one click away from anywhere.
- How many tasks are shown on a board, how many grouped tasks and how many comments are visible on a task before you expand the rest.
Other
Namespace-level conventions that do not fit the other tabs, such as the annotation names the console offers when you annotate datapoints.
Account
Your own view of the platform:
- Show namespace IDs — show the technical namespace identifier (for example
enrx_org_001) next to the display name in the namespace selector, instead of display names only. - Environment switcher — list the namespaces of every environment you have access to (for example staging and production) in one namespace list, so you can move between them without signing in elsewhere.
Automated Access
Generate the keys that scripts, integrations and the ewx-cli use to connect to the platform: create a set of OAuth2 client credentials with a display name and an expiry, copy the client ID and secret once (the secret is not shown again), and delete credentials you no longer use. How to use them against the API is described in Automated API Access.
Namespace
For administrators: view and set the namespace properties of the active namespace, the key/value configuration that controls platform behaviour for everyone in it. Every property, its type and its effect is listed in Namespace Properties.
